LLFE CNTRE CHILDREN'S HOME - At the heart of our activities, the Life Foundation runs a residential children’s home (Registered CCI - Child Care Institute) for orphaned, underprivileged, abused and persecuted children. The Life Centre campus, located on the outskirts of Jeypore Township, is a place where "Holistic Life” is celebrated and “life skills” are being cultivated. Children passing through this home have gone on to pursue careers in Teaching, Nursing, Engineering & even Medicine.
RAINBOW CARE - The Life Foundation runs a residential home called "Rainbow Care" especially equipped to care for at risk babies, infants and toddlers. It is the goal of The Life Foundation and Rainbow Care to nurture these children in a safe and loving family environment where each child is given the best opportunity to develop in a healthy way and ultimately enjoy a more abundant life.
WOMAN'S SHELTER - The Life Foundation works in with the Local authorities to accommodate and care for at risk women. Many young women stay with us for some days as legal and family issues are settled while others have been sanctioned to stay with us on a permanent basis for ongoing shelter, care education and vocational training.
SUNSHINE NURSERY - The Life Foundation runs a pre-school educational program called ‘Sunshine Nursery’. Small children from our own home attend Sunshine Nursery as well as children from Jeypore township and surrounding villages. This “play and learn” environment is the perfect place for 1st generation learners to become excited about learning and then be channeled into mainstream education.
COMMUNICATIONS ENGLISH - The Life Foundation runs a Communications English Language courses for the people of Jeypore and beyond. These courses have empowered over 1,800 students with English Communication skills that have enabled many to secure well paid employment throughout India and even abroad.
SEWING & TAILORING - The Life Foundation runs sewing & tailoring training classes, Students learn how to measure, cut, design and stitch a range of men and womens, Indian & Western style clothing. Over 150 students have gone on to establish their own home based sewing business.
PAPER CRAFT - The Life Foundation runs a Hand Made Paper craft project which provides a livelihood for young women. Handmade paper is being manufactured by either recycling used paper donated from a local school as well as using local commodities including straw, banana and sugar cane fiber. Handmade products including seasonal cards, jewellery & pencil boxes, stationary files and craft paper. Products are being sold to visitors, local retail outlets and supportive NGO's which helps generate a local income for The Life Foundation.
BEAD. JEWELLERY - The Life Foundation has gained a beautiful skill from a unique. group of mountain women who traditionally string and wear brightly coloured bead necklaces. This skills has been passed onto the girls in our care who love to create their own vibrant colour combination of bead necklaces. These Hand Made Bead necklaces are sold locally and well as to supportive NGO's which helps generate a local income for The Life Foundation.
BEAUTICIANS TRAINING - The Life Foundation is working in with a local Trainer to provide Beauticians Training for senior girls in our care. This opportunity is giving girls training and shop experience in hair cutting, hair colouring, eyebrow threading, pedicure, manicure, facial treatments, waxing and bridal makeup. This training is greatly empowering local women towards employment, income generation and self sufficiency.
COMPUTER TRAINING - The Life Foundation runs a Computer lab for the children of its Life Centre Children's Home as well and providing training for students in the community. Students are following a Microsoft training Course where they learn the basis of computer and Microsoft package operation.
MUSIC TRAINING - The Life Foundation runs seasonal music classes for its Life Centre Children a well as students from the Jeypore township. Classes in guitar, keyboard and drums are being conducted where both musical theory as well as practical musicianship are being taught by local musicians.
SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD - The Life Foundation runs a sustainable livelihood project aimed at empowering people with skills training, resources and finances to help establish income generating businesses. This project has helped to establish rice, sugar cane and corn crops, develop cow, goat, emu and fish farming projects and establish home sewing, paper-making, tea shop, clothing and brick making businesses.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT - The Life Foundation conducts regular Leadership Training Programs. Community leaders are being equipped with skills to bring about positive Community Development in the areas that they serve. Training has been given in the fields of soil management, water harvesting, bee keeping, first aid, paper making, community healthcare, community organization, disaster management, child development, environmental care, small business initiatives, economic development, and counselling.
HEALING HONEY - The Life Foundation provides a community health service to people suffering from various kinds of topical skin ailments. The Life Foundation is supplied with this special healing honey called Manuka honey from New Zealand's innovative Natural Health company, Comvita NZ Ltd. Many have been powerfully healed through this very special natural resource.
LIFE CENTRES - The Life Foundation is developing its Life Centre as a where life is celebrated and people in need can be served and empowered. It is our desire that each centre be a place of love, beauty, healing, training, productivity, innovation and holistic community life so that abundant life may be experienced and reproduced elsewhere.
